[라이브 아카데미] 일상을 영어로 05 / 어쩐지 ~더라, ~해야겠다 영어로 표현

A : The forecast says it's going to rain today, starting in the afternoon throughout the rest of the day.

B: Oh, no wonder it's so dark outside. I was going to get my car washed today but i guess i should wait until after the rain.

A : 오늘 비 온대. 오후부터 시작해서 하루 종일

B : 오늘 세차할려고 했는데 비 오고 나면 해야겠다.

 

 

A : The forecast says it's going to rain today, starting in the afternoon throughout the rest of the day.

비 온다라는 말을 뭐 comes rain 이렇게 쓰는 게 아니라 rain을 바로 동사로 쓴다는 것.

starting부터 부사절로 앞의 내용이 어떤식으로 될 건지를 설명해주는 부분

throughout : 어떤 기간이 있으면 그 기간에 걸쳐서라는 의미. ex) throughout this weekend : 이번 주말에 걸쳐서

 

B: Oh, no wonder it's so dark outside. 

오, 어쩐지 밖에 어둡더라.

no wonder를 붙여주면 어쩐지 ~했다했어, 어쩐지 ~더라 이런 말로 표현 가능

 

I was going to get my car washed today but i guess i should wait until after the rain.

get my car washed -> 세차를 받다(하다)라는 의미, 그런데 wash my car이라고 해도 되지만 내포된 의미가 잘 못 전달될 수 있음

*get <무엇> + P.P : 돈을 지불하고 받는 서비스에 대해서 말할 때 자주 사용하는 문구

ex) get my phone fixed/repaired, get my clothes dry-cleaned

*I guess i should : ~해야겠다, 지금 당장 나한테 새로 주어진 조건이나 상황에 대해서 그럼 ~해야겠다

A : 오늘 비 온대. 저녁부터 시작해서 이번 주 내내 

B : 어쩐지 밖에 우산 가지고 다니는 사람 많더라. 오늘 저녁에 조깅하려고 했는데 다음 주에 해야겠네

B : oh, no wonder there are so many people who have umbrella. i was going to jog in the evening i guess i should jog next week.
